Note the wide array of edit controls at the top of this edit area. Each of these allows you to do different things with the content space of your website.
This is a critical difference between SiteforLess and 95% of the solutions out there - with us you have COMPLETE CONTROL of the content space within the site. You can place images, bulleted lists, links, connections to documents, and other special features without limitation. Each page is unlimited in length so you can say as much as you need to say on any given topic.
This tour is in no way complete - we can't possibly show you all of the elements - but we'll demonstrate the most important and you can be the judge from there.
The first line of icons on the menu above provide you with edit controls. Here you can Edit the raw HTML of the page if you are a technically minded individual and need that level of control. Our editor is special because wherever you are editing in the WYSIWYG mode, you will be in that exact same space within the HTML when you switch modes.
From this line you can copy, paste, find, undo, redo, insert your own images from your local computer, insert tables, even add special characters.
You will notice that icons might be ghosted. Different icons "turn on" depending upon what you are doing. This is an "automatic helper" so that you don't try to use a function that won't work without first taking other steps.
For instance, the copy / paste icons are only on if either A) you have something already in the Windows clipboard or B) you have highlighted text / an image in the page to do something with it.
Also, the standard Windows editing keyboard shortcuts are active within the editor. For example, CTRL-X cuts and CTRL-V pastes.
The second line of icons provide you with text editing controls. They work just like what you would see in word. First highlight your selection that you wish to change and then click on the appropriate icon.

TIME TO SPELL CHECK
You'll notice on this second line of edit controls, there is an ABC with a Check mark toward the very end of the list. That button opens our spell check / grammar check system. We are the *ONLY* known provider to include a grammar checker on top of a spelling checker. In fact, our system also incorporates a Thesaurus. Click on the button now to see...
The third line of icons provide text formatting controls so that you can change the font, size, and color of the fonts within the content area. This is great for easily making headings of content or for emphasizing important points.

As you can see - changing text on the fly is easy as Word.
The final, fourth row of icons demonstrate critical and unique features from SiteforLess. The first icon lets you load pre-defined sample text. These pull information from your customer info to pre-populate the text with information about your company. You can practice using this feature on the other pages of this demo space. This professionally written copy will help you focus your energies on what to say if you are creating the content of the site yourself.
The next icon is a broom and allows you to clean up what is called Word Code. These special format codes can sneak into your text if you are copying information from Microsoft Word and can cause display problems for your site visitors who may not be using Internet Explorer as their default browser. We want your site to be viewable by everyone and so we include this nifty little tool to help.
The next icon gives you direct access to the Adobe PDF Document management library. Here you can insert IN CONTEXT links to documents containing more information about a given subject.

EXAMPLE:
Your agency has been serving the community for over 75 years. You've developed a brochure to talk about your history and the impact your agency has had on the community.
Your history is an important part of your heritage and what sets you apart from your competition. You want to talk about it but not at the expense of wasting important selling space within your site.
What do you do? Create a PDF copy of your brochure. Then within the site - just have a little paragraph stating your history with an IN CONTEXT link to the full brochure. The people who are interested in all of the detail can click on the link and read the full brochure.
In this way, our sites are unlimited. You can have as many of these IN CONTEXT links you need throughout your site. |
Next, you see an icon that looks like a photo in a white frame - sort of like a Polaroid. This lets you insert images from our image library - which contains over 6,000 images to choose from.
Next, you see a book which represents your photo album - any special images that you've personally uploaded for use in your site will be here.
Finally, you see a coffee cup which allows you to insert special services such as quote, support, and newsletter links all within the content space of your site...
